Our termly summer concert has been revitalised, and we are delighted to invite you to our Summer Proms. This special event brings together all of our ensembles, including the Phoenix Orchestra, our largest orchestral group for decades, alongside our renowned Schola Cantorum and Symphony Orchestra. A range of smaller ensembles will also perform, including the Session Band, Lower School Choir, and our String and Flute Ensembles.
A particularly exciting feature of this year’s programme is the return of an organ to the Concert Hall for the first time since the early 2000s. The instrument, which is being hired specially for the occasion, is the proposed new Chapel organ, offering a unique opportunity to hear it in performance.
The concert will also feature outstanding soloists from our Sixth Form music prefect team. Audrey will perform the Vivaldi Guitar Concerto, and our outgoing music prefects, Charmeine and Trinity, will perform the Mendelssohn Piano Trio.
Guests are warmly invited to join us for pre show drinks at 18.30 on the Concert Hall lawn, weather permitting. Doors open at 19.10 for a 19.30 start. The concert will last approximately one hour and fifteen minutes, without an interval.
Admission is free, but tickets are required as seating in the Concert Hall is limited. There will also be an optional opportunity to donate in support of the Music Department’s fund towards a new Chapel organ.
